IMPACTING LIVES WITH OUR INVESTMENTS
Finding a place for dad.
Stacey and her father Steve were looking for a place to call home. The family was on a fixed income and needed to find quality housing within a moderate budget that could also accommodate Steve’s physical disabilities. Housing JV purchased, renovated and revitalized a blighted 3 bedroom 1 bath single-family home. This house had been vacant for a number of years and conditions for repairs were beyond the capacity of a typical homeowner. Without our intervention an otherwise lovely home would still be vacant and obsolete and these stellar tenants would be living in much less hospitable conditions. Stacey and her father Steve have called this house home for the past 2 years and plan stay for the longterm.
Starting a new life on a new continent.
Shoveling snow and planting flowers.
Shawn and his wife Christina recently had a baby boy Seth. Concerns for this new family included an apartment community which had children friendly outdoor space for Seth to play and an area for Christina to continue her hobby of gardening. The couple needed to find a home which was close to work for Shawn and enough space to allow their new family to grow with time. Supported only by one income and due to a competitive renters market, it wasn’t easy for Shawn and Christina to find a place. After noticing renovations and construction of a once vacant apartment complex, Shawn decided to stopped by to inquire when leasing would start. At Housing JV, we saw the potential of this young couple who just needed an opportunity to secure housing. Shawn and Christina have been residents of ours for 3 years. As a full time landscaper he enjoys working with his hands and doing odd jobs around the community to make the place feel more like home.
